This week I am a really proud supervisor because I have seen my first three students in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft succeed in their graduation projects! I am truly grateful that they have chosen me as their supervisor and I feel a little bit sad that our journey has ended for now and they are off to follow their own paths 🚀

Yoshi So organised a co-design workshop with residents of Spijkenisse to explore the future identity of their town. They created a huge collage together which Yoshi translated into spatial visions for the future. The collage and visions were exhibited in a local library, allowing residents to see what happened in the co-design workshop and give feedback on its outcomes.

Sophie van Hal organised a series of workshops in Hillesluis (Rotterdam), aiming to involve residents in developing interventions to shape the energy transition in their neighbourhood. She identified and brought together a group of residents, interested in this topic, and empowered them to continue discussing this topic even after the graduation.

Filip Chládek collaborated with two NGOs in Prague to engage with unhoused people and with teenagers, and explored with them how they experience climate change. Filip designed a co-design workshop with the teenagers where they generated spatial designs for a public space in Cerny Most in Prague.

What binds this special group together is that they’ve all taken up the challenge to engage with participatory activities and co-design workshops during their graduation. I am amazed by how much they have achieved!
